Dave’s Musings: God’s Refrigerator Door

When was the last time that you looked at your refrigerator? It’s probably been awhile, even though you go there several times a day. You just never really notice the door.

But even though you may rarely look at the door of your refrigerator, you may be like me and love to look at other people’s.

I love going to people’s houses and looking at their refrigerators. You can tell a lot about them by what’s displayed there.

Some of my friends have lists of appointments to be kept — doctors, dentists, financial advisors and other places they need to be.

Then there are the usual magnets. I have some of these on my refrigerator door — a little dog, a cat and others. Some are made of wood and some were handmade by a friend.

But then I also notice lots of pictures on many refrigerator doors. Some are photographs of interesting places visited, some are of gatherings of friends, some are of children and some are children’s art work.

But each of these usually have some significance in the person’s life — a place they enjoyed or a person that‘s special to them.

And so I began wondering: What would God’s refrigerator door have on it?

The answer is easy. All you have to do to answer it is look in the mirror to see the image. You are the most special and significant person to God.
