Austin and Houston Companies: Avoid Moving To Larger Office Space With Colocation

Austin and Houston are very different cities, but office space is expensive and hard to find in both cities. That’s one reason companies that need more information technology space turn to off-site data centers.

Just as choosing to use outside meeting room space can keep a company from needing to move to a larger facility, so can taking advantage of colocation.

Choosing an Austin colocation facility or a Houston data center to house your company’s growing IT needs can save you from a costly and inconvenient move, but selecting the right facility is critical.

Deciding on the right level of service is important too. The best colocation providers have the resources to offer an increasing level of service and space as your company grows.

From secure and lockable cabinets to private suites, data colocation facilities in Texas should offer a complete range of services as well as smooth transitions when needs change.

Lockable cabinets are the least expensive choice and are a great solution when you don’t require your own secure data cage. With complete rack flexibility including adjustable square holes and threaded mounting rails, one of these cabinets may be all you need at the moment.

Secure data cages allow your company more space. This colocation option involves creating a special areas in the data center that is accessible only by you and those you choose. A competent colocation provider can also offer layout analysis to help you make sure you’re using every inch of space efficiently.

If your company needs more space than a cage can provide, a private data suite in a Houston or Austin colocation facility could be the best solution for you. These hard-walled suites have separate entrances with complete security to make sure your data stays safe. Shielded from the prying eyes of outsiders, no one will know your company’s most vital systems are housed inside unless you tell them.

The right Austin data center company shares something important in common with the best Houston colocation facility: a focus on your needs. Any colocation provider worth considering should be focused tightly and entirely on the specific needs of its customers.

Register Booster Fan Review: Is Suncourt The Right Choice?

A register booster fan is a rather simple device that increases the amount of air coming out of a vent to help improve the air circulation in a room and at least make the occupants feel that the temperature is more comfortable.

One of the most popular brands of register booster fans on the market is Suncourt. Models like the Suncourt HC500-W and HC300 Flush Fit Register Booster are among the most common.

According to the company, these Suncourt air register boosters can increase the airflow coming out of a vent by up to 85 percent, but does that rise result in increased comfort for those in the room?

They Really Work

Some online reviews have been somewhat critical of similar register booster fans, and that’s to be expected. People who find that the device functions as it says it will rarely bother to write online reviews. For the most part, only those who are dissatisfied sound off.

Some people are also confused by exactly what these air vent booster fans do. They don’t actually lower the temperature of the air coming out of the vent. If the air coming out is already cold, however, but it’s simply not blowing with as much velocity as it should, these fans work great.

That’s right: Suncourt register booster fans work as advertised for most users, making them a great value for the small price they cost. And since they can help lower electric bills by keeping homeowners from having to change their thermostats, they are an especially good deal.

Only One Small Issue

A problem could arise, however, if the air vent you want to boost is not located near an electrical outlet. These fans have to get power from somewhere, and many models don’t have a battery option. That means the fan must plug into an electrical outlet.

Some people find this required electrical connection unsightly, but these electrical cords are no more unsightly than any other. It’s a good tradeoff anyway. Having to have a cord running from your air vent is a small price to pay for a room that’s much more comfortable than before.

Most models are intended to fit into a 4-inch by 10-inch vent, but adapter plates are available to allow Suncourt register booster fans to fit into other sizes of vents.

Some manufacturers claim a 3 to 5 degree reduction in the temperature of a room when a register booster fan is in place. That certainly seems possible since these ingenious devices push air that was simply drifting out of vents into the portions of the room where occupants can benefit.

Ordering a register booster fan like the ones shown on this page from Amazon is probably your best bet. The fans already come with a generous warranty, but Amazon’s return policy makes getting your money back quick and simple if you decide the device isn’t for you.

You probably won’t want to return your vent booster fan, however.

Once you feel for yourself how much difference one of these fans makes in the comfort of your home’s hardest-to-ventilate rooms, you’ll want to order more.

Bladder Cancer Attorneys: Why Is There So Much Talk About Them?

If you’ve recently noticed lots of online ads and television commercials related to finding a bladder cancer attorney, you’re not alone. These ads are popping up everywhere.

There must be a reason, right?

Here’s why there’s so much talk about bladder cancer attorneys these days.

Actos Bladder Cancer Concerns

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a warning in mid-2011 indicating that the drug Actos, a brand of pioglitazone, has been linked in some patients to bladder cancer. The link was noticed in some patients who had used the drug for more than a year.

Pioglitazone is marketed as Actos in the United States as well as in Canada, the United Kingdom and some other countries. The same drug may be known as Glustin in Europe or Glizone or Pioz in India.

This link between the drug and bladder cancer has caused particular concern among diabetics because Actos is prescribed for type 2 diabetics who have trouble controlling their blood sugar levels.

Because of the FDA link between pioglitazone and bladder cancer, the Warnings and Precautions section of the label of any products marketed in the U.S. that contains this drug will now provide wording that indicating this risk.

Who Needs a Bladder Cancer Lawyer?

Only a very specific segment of people have a reason to contact a bladder cancer lawyer. While there is not yet any indication that money can be successfully recovered from the drug maker or anyone else because of this link, only those who have or had bladder cancer and also took Actos or a related drug have a reason for concern.

While some lawyers and consumer groups may try to scare those who have taken the drug into thinking that they are likely to develop bladder cancer, the majority of the people who take the drug will never have this cancer.

In addition, there are other causes of bladder cancer, including smoking, that help account for the thousands of cases of this disease each year.

Choose Your Bladder Cancer Attorney with Care

Because the link between bladder cancer and Actos has been well publicized, ads promoting bladder cancer lawyer services are likely to become even more prolific.

While there’s nothing wrong with choosing a lawyer because of an ad, it’s still a good idea to check out any lawyer you’re considering through the Better Business Bureau, the state bar and professional organizations before making any commitments.

While the risk of bladder cancer from pioglitazone is serious, there’s no reason for those who have taken the drug to panic or make a hasty legal decision.

2012 Lincoln Navigator Review

The 2012 Lincoln Navigator is a luxury SUV with three rows of seats and room for eight. This high-end vehicle comes with many amenities that aren’t standard on its closest relative, the less-plush Ford Expedition.

A few new features add to this model’s technological convenience and help drivers see better.

New for 2012, the Navigator is available with Sync AppLink so drivers with smart phones can have voice control over some features. Tech-savvy consumers will likely find this feature the most important change from previous models of the Navigator.

Another change, however, increases this offerings safety.

New spotter mirrors are the most important improvement from a safety standpoint. This large vehicle has plenty of blind spots, but these new mirrors reduce them dramatically. A backup camera is also standard.

A stability system that helps prevent rolls is standard, too, and side curtain airbags keep passengers in all three rows as safe as possible in the event of a crash.

Other important features to note include a power liftgate, power-folding third row seats and the easy-to-use navigation system that comes standard on the Navigator. The power-adjustable pedals are a nice touch too.

The Navigator’s 310 horsepower, 5.4 liter V-8 engine means it still gets relatively low gas mileage, but this vehicle is designed for comfort, not economy. The six-speed automatic transmission makes driving simple and responsive.

Standard cooled and heated front seats add to the luxurious feel of the vehicle and keep passengers who are dressed for business looking fresh, even after long trips. Satellite radio and the 14-speaker audio system keep people who are along for the ride entertained on long hauls too.

Competing vehicles with similar configurations include the Infiniti QX56 and the Cadillac Escalade, and this offering from Lincoln holds its own against these popular models and any others to which drivers care to compare it.

Some reviewers have noted that the interior trim pieces and gauges are more ornate than they need to be. This is a luxury vehicle, however, and like the wood accents found throughout the cabin, this kind of lush ornamentation is expected and enjoyed by most drivers.

On the outside, rain-sensing wipers and a capless fuel system add to the upgraded experience.

Ford’s innovative MyKey system is included as well, allowing drivers to set volume and speed limits based on which key is in use, a great feature for those sharing the 2012 Lincoln Navigator with a teenager.

This vehicle is also beefy enough to tow 9,000 pounds. A Navigator L model is also available with a longer wheelbase for those who want even more vehicle.

The 2012 Lincoln Navigator carries a price tag that is in line with its competitors and not at all unreasonable given the level of luxury and the number of amenities included.

For drivers with large families or plenty of business associates who require entertaining and transporting in style, the Lincoln Navigator is a luxurious and comfortable way to hit the road.
